Alive St James’ Swimming Pool was one of three venues to play host to the Junior Fenland League on the 11th June, with West Norfolk Swimming Club starting the evening in 6th place in the overall standings after two rounds of competition.

Teams of swimmers aged 13 years and below traveled to the King’s Lynn venue from Peterborough, St Neots and Thetford; whilst the remainder of the league’s clubs were in action simultaneously at Wisbech and Newmarket.

Abby Bunting scored West Norfolk’s first win of the night in the 13 year old girl’s 50 Meter Backstroke; with Nellie Quinn-Chadderton and Rose Wright quickly following suit in the 9 year old’s 50 Meter Freestyle and 10 year old’s 50 Meter Breaststroke respectively.

Erin Lovelock was responsible for three separate victories, coming home first in the 11 year old’s 50 Meter Backstroke and 50 Meter Freestyle as well as taking maximum points when swimming up an age group in the Freestyle event for 12 year olds.

Further wins came West Norfolk’s way courtesy of Thomas Arthur Jagger; Isabelle Morris; Toby Turner; Faith Turner and Charlie Hill, before the club’s relay team pipped St Neot’s by 1.82 seconds to take top honours in the final race of the evening.
