Huntingdon Piranhas – Squad Expectations & Pathway

Applicable to ALL squad members:

Swimmers must not attend sessions that are not allocated to their squad without prior consultation and agreement from the coaching team
Swimmers should be ready to enter the pool ON TIME (confirmation will be provided by the coaches regarding when swimmers can enter the pool and commence swimming)
Swimmers should listen and show respect to coaches, parents, and other staff both on and off the pool deck
Swimmers should respect and encourage other swimmers both on and off the pool deck and whilst swimming
Swimmers should pack and carry their own equipment bag including a FULL water bottle

The Squad Expectations are provided with consideration to the following:

Balance of appropriate number of sessions across all squads
The expectations are set so that the coaches can focus on key development areas and consider the minimum amount of training/coaching required to support positive outcomes and progression
Allows for tracking of attendance at sessions
Provision of clear guidelines regarding what is needed to be able to enter galas with defined development pathways leading to appropriate and suitable competitions
Development of squads to reflect differing aims and aspirations i.e. those who are swimming towards county/regional competition levels
You are invited to discuss individual progress and development plans for your child with the coaching team, however you are reminded that respect must be shown to the coaching team with regards to their responses
