Safeguarding
Huntingdon Piranhas Swimming Club and Swim England take Safeguarding issues very seriously and any issue of bullying, abuse or suspicion of any irregularity should be reported to the Welfare Officers as soon as possible. These issues are dealt with according to WavePower and action must be taken. The use of photographic or video recording equipment at all events including training sessions is restricted and the guidelines posted on the notice board must be adhered to.
The club follows Swim England's WavePower guidance (https://www.swimming.org/swimengland/tag/club-welfare/). The aim of Wavepower is to safeguard all children in line with current legislation, regulations and guidance and is for use within any Swim England-affiliated organisation where children are present.
If you have concerns about a child's welfare or safety, please contact our dedicated Welfare Officers, Victoria Clipsham and Adam Bright at huntingdonpiranhaswelfare@gmail.com

Equity Policy
In 2023 Swim England released its 10-year strategy, ‘Access Aquatics’, with the following Missions:
Improve the health and success of the nation by enabling access to aquatics for all.
Swim England will champion our sports and work with and empower our partners to tackle inequalities and remove the barriers to participation currently experienced by people and communities. As a club, you have the opportunity to contribute to this Mission and reap the rewards in doing so. Having an action plan in place to address quality, diversity and inclusion could mean an increase in the proportion of under-represented groups in both participation and the workforce.
Huntingdon Piranhas Swimming Club’s objective is to continue to develop and grow the clubs membership base to an increased participation. A key pillar within this strategy will be equality, diversity and inclusion. Our desire is to partner with our other local swim clubs to deliver this combined goal.
All members of Huntingdon Piranhas Swimming Club have a responsibility to challenge discriminatory behaviour and promote equality of opportunity. Huntingdon Piranhas Club will deal with any incidence of discriminatory behaviour seriously, in accordance with the ASA Code of Ethics, guidelines for internal disputes and judicial laws.
Any Equity issues should be brought to the attention of the Club Chairperson at aaran1975@yahoo.co.uk.
