Huntingdon Piranhas Swimming Club – it’s who we are that counts
Our aim is to be a club for the community working together to inspire our members to achieve their full potential to achieve individual and team goals across all levels and ages.
We want to build a community that enhances the spirit and ethos of the club. Our swimmers are required to take ownership of their behaviours and demonstrate a positive attitude whilst applying dedication and commitment to improving their technical abilities. Respect for each other and all supporting their swimming is paramount, whilst maximising the potential to reach their chosen goals.

Girls Junior Club Captain – Felicity Fitzgerald
I am friendly and happy to welcome anyone into the club. I am also quite loud and enthusiastic so I will be a voice for everyone. As well as being loud I am a great listener and am happy to listen to any ideas or worries from the other swimmers and share them with the coaches. Whatever it is I will always be there for everyone.
I have been a member at Piranhas for nearly 2 years. I have experience swimming in the Junior Fenland League, lots of our local swim galas and the County Championships, where I won the 50m freestyle. I have enjoyed these experiences and look forward to sharing them with other swimmers.
Boys Junior Club Captain – Isaac Lam
My name is Isaac Lam. I am 12. I have been in the club since November 2021, I love swimming and also enjoy other sports like hockey and football. So far, I have competed in JFL (Junior Fenland League) and a few other competitions. I am very proud to represent Huntingdon Piranhas.
As a junior captain I expect myself to be the point of contact for the new swimmers. I know how nerve wracking it is when you start a new club or swim competitively, I am here to support them.
To do this I hope to come in to the step-in training session every first Tuesday of the month to meet the new swimmers and speak to anyone who has any questions.
I am very friendly and can help anyone who is nervous during competitions because I know how it feels.
Girls Senior Club Captain – Poppy Railton
Hi, my name is Poppy, I’m 14 years old a swim in the Top Compete Squad. I’m proud to have been appointed Girls Senior Club Captain for this year.
I try to come down to the pool and train at least five times a week and hope to demonstrate a commitment to the club that inspires others. I would like other youth members of Piranhas to see me as approachable and feel that they can come to me with suggestions, I am happy to act as a liaison between the squads and the coaching team.
I’m passionate about swimming having started at a young age. I moved to Huntingdon Piranha’s in 2021 as this is my local team, since this time I have seen the club grow in size, I’m looking forward to supporting at galas and seeing Piranha’s achieve even more medals and trophies – hopefully this will be our most successful year yet!
As well as competing I really enjoy the physical and mental health benefits that swimming provides, it would be great if we could try more activities, like the open water swimming sessions that took place in the summer, and would be happy to explore this further.
Boys Senior Club Captain – Noah Taylor
Hi, my name is Noah. I’m 14 years old and am currently in Top Compete. I have been competing for Huntingdon Piranhas for 2 years and have been swimming for as long as I can remember. I like competing and my favourite stroke is breaststroke.
I’m really proud to be the seniors team captain. I hope to achieve more self-confidence and to help all of the swimmers. I would like to help the less experienced swimmers to do their best at galas and in training. I’m also happy to help the coaches in training sessions and in land training using the skills I have gained from training and swim camps.
