The third and final weekend of the Swim England East Region Championships took place at Inspire Luton Sports Village and once again saw West Norfolk’s younger swimmers take centre stage.

Polly Anderson, Olivia Bradford and Milly Johnson all took to the pool for the 200M Butterfly, with Bradford setting a personal best time.

Alex Pattison set a personal best time of his own in the Boys’ 200M Breaststroke, quickly followed by teammate Joshua Jones. Jones’ performance was enough to qualify him through to the final where he then bettered his time once again on his way to a fifth place finish,

Eloise Collins was next up, contesting the 100M Breaststroke, before Pattison, Jamie Wilson and Sam Liddell took a hat trick of personal best times in the 50M Butterfly.

Not to be outdone, Johnson, Ruby Baxter and Belle Ringwood made the 100M Freestyle the second event in a row to see three West Norfolk swimmers take a personal best a piece.

Personal best times continued to be the theme of the day up unto it’s close, with Johnson, Ringwood and Anderson all achieving them in the Girls’ 200M Backstroke.

The final day of competition on Sunday 14th May saw Toby Turner make his regional debut in the 200M Butterfly – an event which would see his teammates Pattison and Sam Liddell set personal best times. Pattison made it through to the final for the 13 Years’ age group, placing seventh.

Also into a 200M Butterfly final was Wilson, who qualified for the 14 Years’ final in a time of 2 minutes 35.01 seconds. Come the final itself, a spectacular personal best performance saw Wilson set a new personal best of 2 minutes 30.89 seconds to secure himself a bronze medal with a third place finish.

The Girls’ 200M Breaststroke saw Collins make the 14 Years’ final – where a new personal best time helped her secure seventh place. This feat was then repeated by Joshua Jones in the Boys’ 100M Breaststroke final for the same age group.

The 50M Butterfly saw a clean sweep of personal bests from the quartet of Johnson, Baxter, Ringwood and Bradford – with the latter bettering her time yet again during a bronze medal winning performance in the final.

Ringwood and Baxter were at it again with personal best swims in the 100M Backstroke – joined by Anderson who herself also swam a personal best, as did Jones in the Boys’ 100M Freestyle.

A final flurry of personal bests rounded out the day courtesy of Bradford, Anderson and Johnson in the 50M Freestyle and Wilson in the 200M Backstroke.
