counties2018

West Norfolk Swimming Club was formed in 2009 after a merger between King's Lynn Warriors and Downham and District Swimming Clubs. We have developed a reputation for developing swimmers from age 7 upwards in a fully inclusive, supportive and friendly environment. Our mission is to maximise the potential of each individual swimmer and help them become the best they can be.

We have over 150 swimmers ranging from those joining us from the local learn to swim schemes, through our competitive squads and on to masters swimmers with many years of swimming experience. The club has been successful at many levels over the years, regularly helping swimmers achieve their goals at a Regional and National level.

Our swimmers compete regularly in a range of mini / open meets and league galas both locally and further afield. These competitions are carefully chosen to reflect the ability of the team entered and to provide appropriate level of competition.

We operate out of Alive St James Pool in King’s Lynn and Alive Downham Leisure in Downham Market with a Hub running out of Alive Oasis in Hunstanton. The Club also has links with King’s Lynn Triathlon Club to provide Open Water Swimming for it’s members as well as entering Open Water competitions each season.

The club is led by a professional team of Coaches and Teachers, but the club would not run without our vast team of volunteers, all who work together to provide a positive, family friendly team.

The club is affiliated to Norfolk County Swimming, Swim England East Region and are a Swim Mark Essential Club. This recognising our level of excellence at every stage of the programme from development swimmers through to high performance swimming, and that the club follows best practise in terms of programme delivery, club management and administration, health and safety, and child welfare.
