West Norfolk Swimming Club swam to victory at the Iceni Open Meet in Dereham, bringing home 139 top three medal places, 228 personal best times along with the top club trophy from a field of 9 teams.

The club also swept the board for top overall male at the event, taking all three spots. First place male went to Den Vojevoda who swam 12 medal winning swims across the weekend (6 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze) with 8 pb times. Andrej Taplin came in as second male with nine gold winning races, all in pb times and Jack Baxer took third place male with nine medal winning races and pbs (4 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze).

Martha More brought home the top overall female trophy from the event with Elizabeth Litvinenko taking third. Martha finished the weekend with nine medal winning races (5 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze) and 8 pbs while Elizabeth also swam to nine top three places (1 gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze) with 7 pbs.

Noah Goodson swam to medal winning places in seven events, five of them gold, while Oliver Veale swam to victory four times along with a third place finish too. Harriet Wells and Kirill Ivanenco each achieved seven medals with Harriet’s haul including a first place.

Adam Jackson and Arabella Bishop brought home six medals each, both including a gold. Gold medals were also achieved by Ashton Busby, Bay Smith and Nikita Diadko who all swam to five medal winning places in their races. David Roczniak and Leo Harrington both brought home four medals each with David’s including a gold medal place for one of his events.

Other gold medal winners from the weekend were Mabelle Chadderton (a gold and two silvers), Teddy Roberts and William Wakefield, both taking home a gold and bronze each, Arya Richardson and Thomas Elsdon. Eliza Butcher, Erin Lovelock, Maya Marcinek, Joshua Norris, Oscar Tunnicliff and Poppy Peebles all secured two medals each while Alexandra Cerps, Anwen Jones, Cara Rose and Tracey Dodds all added a medal a piece to the tally.

Other great swims were raced by the following swimmers who all achieved pbs across the weekend: Alma Pattison, Amelia Rodgers, Charlie Bradford, Ella Dickens, Ellie Kitt, Freddie Wakefield, Indi Goldsmith, Lexi Foster, Milana Melinyte, Neve Haddock, Ophelia Bradney, Poppy Matthews, Regan Redman, Sarah Taylor and Scarlett Smith.

Special mention must also go to Bella-Rose Holmes (9yrs), Denis Diadko(9yrs), Eliza-Grace Codling (10yrs) and Sonny Roberts (9yrs), who all achieved some pbs across the weekend in their very first external swim meet.
