All WNSC members need to be registered as a member of our governing body, SwimEngland (formerly and still sometimes referred to as the ASA).
The membership covers insurance, the ability to compete in licensed galas, training of our coaches, and the accreditation of our club under the SwimMark scheme (formerly known as Swim21)
Whether you are a participant, teacher, coach or an officer responsible for running a club, you will find information about the insurance included within your membership affiliation to Swim England, to protect you whilst you are taking part in our sport.
New members signify their agreement to the Terms and Conditions of SwimEngland membership when they join the club, and renewals are administered by the club in January each year. If you move clubs, you can take your SwimEngland membership with you.
Please note that the membership fees collected by WNSC also include amounts levied by our Region of SwimEngland.
There are three categories of SwimEngland membership:
Category 1 (for members aged 8 and under, or who do not take part in competitive swimming e.g. masters)
Category 3 (for non swimming members - including club volunteers).
Category 2 (for members aged 9 & over, including those wishing to swim with multiple clubs)
Members can check and update their membership details on the British Swimming website here:-
https://www.swimmingmembers.org/
Non members can check here:-
http://www.swimming.org/asa/clubs-and-members/membership-check/
You can check the times your swimmer(s) have achieved in licenced meets in "British Swimming Rankings" here:-
https://www.swimmingresults.org/individualbest/
Please check that your membership details (SwimEngland number, membership category, date of birth) are the same on both the WNSC Swim manager database and the SwimEngland database. These are very important for entering meets - so if your details are not correct then please let membership@westnorfolksc.co.uk know immediately, as this may affect your ability to compete, or volunteer as an official / helper.
We are also required to pass on to SwimEngland an email address (parent's email for swimmers under 18), and address.
