The weekend of the 4th and 5th March saw another successful swim meet for 62 members of West Norfolk Swimming Club.
Just a month after swimming at the UEA Sportspark in the Norfolk County Championships, action returns to the venue for two days of completion hosted by Norwich Swan.
Josh Jones, age 13, led the team scoreboard with the most points earned for the weekend after obtaining an impressive 8 medals. Gold gained in 50m, 100m & 200m Freestyle and 200IM. Silver for 200m Breaststroke and 400IM and Bronze for 100m Breaststroke and 50m Backstroke.
Meanwhile, Ruby Baxter took joint lead on the girls most points earned in the team, alongside Polly Anderson, both aged 11. Ruby took home 5 medals including a Gold for an outstanding 200IM race which she fought hard to keep the lead throughout and win, taking off almost 6 seconds off her time! Silver achieved for 50m & 100m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly and 1 Bronze for 200m Backstroke.
Polly took home 3 Gold medals for 50m, 100m & 200m Backstroke and 1 Silver for 400IM with a 9 second PB.
Dual club swimmer, Millie Harris, age 14, choosing to swim for West Norfolk this weekend, gained 3 Gold for 50m & 200m Butterfly and 200IM and 1 silver for 100m Butterfly.
Olivia Bradford, also age 11, had an amazing meet obtaining not just a Gold for her 50m Butterfly but also a new club record! As well as 2 Bronze medals in 100m Butterfly and 50m Backstroke.
Looking consistent on the longer races, Daniel Grimmer took Bronze medals for his 400m Freestyle, 400 IM and 200m Butterfly. Whilst 17 year old Harvey Isle raced well to gain one of each colour; a Gold for 200m Butterfly, Silver for 200m Backstroke and Bronze for 400IM.
Another club member taking one of each was Alex Pattison gaining Gold in 200m Butterfly, Silver in 100m Butterfly and Bronze in 200IM.
Those taking home 2 medals each were Eloise Collins, who achieved 2 Golds for 50m & 200m Breaststroke and Theo Ryan who achieved 2 Bronze medals for 200m IM and 200m Backstroke.
Thomas Baxter was amongst those taking home a silver medal after placing second for his 200m Backstroke race. As did Arabella Bishop for an impressive 15 seconds off her 400m IM time.
Fifteen year old Rhys Burrell achieved Silver for his 200m Breaststroke race, just missing out on medals in his other Breaststroke races placing 4th, whilst Sarah O’Brien also secured Silver in her 200m Breaststroke race.
Ashton Busby took off an impressive 12 seconds to take 1st place in his 200m Butterfly and Milly Johnson brought home Bronze for her efforts in her 200m Butterfly race.
Others gaining a medal over the weekend were Florence Collison, who sailed home with a Bronze for her 200m Breaststroke, Olivia Haddock gained a Bronze for her 100IM swim , as did Adam Jackson for his 50m Breaststroke race and Pemberley Hornigold for her 100m Breaststroke.
Gold medal winners were also 12 year old Calleigh Welham- Smith in her 400IM race, Nathan Wells in his 100m Breaststroke, Nathan Yeaman for his 200m Backstroke and Belle Ringwood for her 100m Backstroke.
