Eleven West Norfolk swimmers have qualified to take part in National level competition this summer.

The British Swimming Summer Championships will be held from the 22nd to the 28th July at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield.

West Norfolk Swimming Club’s Nathan Wells will participate in the 50M; 100M and 200M Backstroke as well as the 200M and 400M Individual Medley, whilst Freddie Laws will contest the 200M Breaststroke.

The pair will then team up with Finn Ryan and Daniel Grimmer for the 4 x 100 Medley Relay.

The Swim England National Open Water Championships will then take place on Saturday 29th July at Thryberg County Park near Rotherham.

West Norfolk’s Esmie Kidman will contest the 5KM race off the back of county title across the same distance earlier in the month, whilst Jamie Wilson and Wiktoria Marcinek will take part in the 3KM race – for which they too are the reigning county champions in men’s and women’s events respectively.

Finally, the Swim England National Summer Meet running from the 2nd to the 6th August will see Wells and Laws return to Sheffield – this town joined by Molly Lee; Sarah O’Brien; Millie Harris and Rhys Burrell.

Wells will contest the 200M Butterfly with Laws racing the 100M Breaststroke and 200M Individual Medley.

O’Brien will contest the Women’s 100M Breastroke alongside Lee, who will also race the 50M distance across the same stroke.

Harris will compete in the 50M and 100M Butterly events whilst Burrell will make his national debut in the 200M Breaststroke.
